The funding of financing operations is as important to track as the financing operation itself. Clients that invest money provide an essential function for any finance company, but with the function also comes responsibility. Responsibilities to track the deposits, calculate interest and meet statutory requirements with the IRD.

Depositors is part of finPOWER, one of a new generation of products that uses the most up to date development technology available. It draws on the years of experience Intersoft Systems has had developing software for the Finance industry and incorporates new features requested by the many existing Users.

finPOWER is comprised of a base system and a number of key functional areas that offers the Finance Company the ability to record and track a wide range of types of Deposits. These are enhanced by a number of optional Add-ons that need only be purchased if required. This allows for changing requirements and system growth that can match that of you company.

Core Features of finPOWER Depositors

Client Details

Full details are held for each client, "joint" client, Trust or Company. This includes contact details, past addresses, Tax Class, Tax Numbers and Exemption details, Notes and Deposits involved with, either as the main Lender or a joint name.

Flexible Deposit Terms

Deposits can be entered with a defined maturity date or can be entered as being "On Call" to cater for differing Deposit characteristics.



Flexible Interest Structure

Each Deposit can have either a fixed Interest Rate associated with it or a floating rate that can be at a premium to the base rate. Any changes in the base rate then need only be made once. Each Deposit type can have a stepped Interest Rate for paying interest at differing rates based upon the Deposit's current daily balance.



Accrued and Paid Interest

A running total of the accrued interest on the Deposit is kept for easy reference but interest is only "paid" to the deposit in accordance with defined credit frequency. The options for paying the interest are daily, weekly monthly, end of month, quarterly or at maturity. This provides accurate "on screen" information that can be used to answer client queries.

Maturity Options

Maturity Options are recorded on the Deposit file and automatically actioned on the maturity date.

At maturity the Deposit can be paid out in full, principal reinvested, a set amount can be reinvested or the entire deposit can be reinvested. Cheque or Direct Credits can be used for any payments being made.



Transaction Wizards

finPOWER has user friendly Transaction Wizards to guide you through many of the advanced transactions making transaction entry easy and simple. The Wizard explains each step and prompts you to enter the relevant information and gives the opportunity to review any data entered before committing it.

Batch Entry

True Batch Entry facilities allow transaction batches to be entered, saved, added to, edited, printed and reported on.

Withdrawal Fees

Where a withdrawal is made from a deposit, or a deposit is broken before full term, fees can be charged or interest reclaimed.



Cheque Printing and Direct Credits

finPOWER Depositors provides for both Cheque and Direct Credit payments. Cheques can be printed on pre-printed stationery singularly or in batches. Direct Credits can be made to all of NZ's major Trading Banks.

Investment Interest Distribution

Where the return from invested deposits is distributed to deposits rather than a set interest rate being paid the Interest Distribution facility can be used. Investment income is divided according to the average daily balance of the deposits.

Pools

Deposits can be allocated to "Pools" that reconcile Deposits and Loans. This allows the identification of matched funds and segmentation of the Deposit Ledger.

Optional Add-Ons

There are offered a number of different add-ons that can be purchased to enhance the finPOWER Depositors system. These include:

  • Branches.

    This Add-on allows Loans and Clients to be allocated to specific Branches.
  • Brokers.

    Need to track and pay commissions to Finance Brokers? This Add-On assists you to accomplish this.
  • Remote Data Refresh.

    Where Branches wish to enquire on Head Office data the Remote Data Refresh Add On allows for the easy export and import of changes to the main Database.

Easy to Use Windows Interface

The finPOWER Series maximises the use of the Windows Graphical User Interface (GUI) to create a friendly environment that is easy to navigate and learn. Powerful Lookup and Search facilities are also included.

Customisation

Many of the User Interface features are fully customisable. For example Menus and Toolbars are completely customisable. Data entry "grid layouts" may be customised and saved for each user, allowing fine-tuning of the system.

Complies with NZ Acts

The finPOWER Series has been carefully designed to comply with NZ Acts covering Hire Purchase Agreements, including the Hire Purchase Act 1971, Credit Contracts Act 1982 and the Credit Repossession Act 1997. You may, however, override "loan" characteristics to provide more flexible loan types.

Microsoft Office Integration

finPOWER is closely integrated to MS Office, giving access to the functionality of Word, Excel and Access. Formatting features of Word can be fully incorporated, along with high-level VBA tools to enhance your documentation.

Reports

Reports may be previewed on the screen or printed to a printer. Reports can be exported in a number of different formats, including Portable Document Format (PDF), and text CSV formats suitable to load into Microsoft Excel 97 etc or e-mailed direct from the application.

Open Integration

finPOWER stores information using Microsoft's Jet Database. This is the same database "engine" behind MS Access 97. This means any other product that can open an Access database can retrieve information from a finPOWER database.

Systems Requirements

The finPOWER Series is specifically designed to operate in a Windows 95 / 98 / Me / NT or 2000 or operating environment. Minimum configuration for the finPOWER Series is a Pentium class CPU with 32Mb RAM. Recommended configuration is a Pentium III class processor, and 64Mb of RAM. finPOWER requires 20Mb of free Hard Disk space. Dot Matrix printers are not recommended for use. To print letters from within the system you require Microsoft Word 97 or above.
